Assymetric chess variant on a 6x6 board. The minor pieces are knights for White, and bishops for Black.

Otherwise the rules of chess apply, with the following differences:

• Pawns have no double-move option.
• Pawns can promote to any piece which that side had at the beginning of the game (except pawn and king), i.e. white can promote to queen, rook or knight, and black can promote to queen, rook or bishop.
• Castling: the rook always moves two, and the king moves one or two fields (see diagram below).

Notes

On small board the bishop pair is roughly as valuable as the two knights. See also: Value of pieces.
