Augmented Knight

Chess variant


Chess variant where the knights are extended with a new power. There are four possibilities to choose from.

Jump two fields diagonally
Move one field diagonally
Jump two fields orthogonally (in rook directions)
Move one field orthogonally

It is adjustable whether all knights have this power, or only one per side, and the other is a normal knight. The setup is symmetrical for the two players in this game (but see also: Asymmetric Augmented Knight).

Otherwise the rules of chess apply, with the following difference:
